Claes Bang 2020 Dracula

"WOW!" is the least I can say about this AMAZING NEW 2020 Netflix Series! Ladies (and gentleman) he's charming, got a sense of humor and very much bisexual! The new 2020 Dracula, (from the makers of BBC Sherlock) have released a masterpiece! I wont say how many times watched the series in full and I will definitely not be admitting how many times I watched THE scene (At the Gates of the nunnery) 😏

The Choice to cast Claes Bang as Dracula was pure genius! his voice and overall charming physical appearance tales on almost an eerie resemblance to the 1958 Christopher Lee Dracula. With his suave confidence and witty (almost comedic) one liners, you find yourself in support of this creature in the night as he searches for his next glass of "wine".

🩸Claes Bang Dracula💔

Some of his greatest One liners include:

~Johnathan Harker calles Dracula a Monster

"And your a lawyer, nobodies perfect..."

~Tearing himself out of a wolves body, he strokes the pelt seductively in-front of two nuns.

"I don't know about you girls, but I do LOVE a bit of fur..."

~After explaining to a nun why he fears the cross...

"My GOD... I CANNOT wait to eat some atheists..." 😉

Vincent Price The True Master Of Horror

Okay... Over the Course of the 2020 mess I have found comfort in spine tingling, spectacular oddities of the 50's and 60's!

The one and only Vincent Price, who's voice creates the perfect nuance of comfort and fright. Vincent, the seamster of peculiar notions often contemplated by the common man. Mr. Price, who's voice both haunts and comforts in the terrors that he himself delves and weaves like the silken velvets that lilt upon ones ears.

The man is a commentary genius! Upon listening first to his voice in the narration of The Gold Bug by Edgar Allen Poe I fell in love with his ability to narrate. (That can be found on Youtube)

I just about nearly jumped out of my skin while he read The Smoker! (a story about a boy who finds a possessed skeleton that smokes to keep rodents from nesting in it's mouth while it decomposes)

I have probable listened to every narration, watched every movie and every short! out of everything I think my favorite has been The House On Haunted Hill!

This film is a 1959 Horror / Suspense. I am normally not a fan of the new horror portrayed in the modern media. Jump scares are cheap methods to bring thrill and adrenaline, where as a true woven story created by long drawn out suspense and phycological tricks can create a true sense of terror!

I will quickly also note that I am completely opposed to ever watching another Alfred Hitchcock movie due to his questionable morals and abuse he put female through during his productions. I find his films to be more haunting due to the reality behind the making of his films to be the true culprit of horror. Hitchcock (in my personal opinion) is the source of horror, not his films. (The birds is a good example of this)

CASTLEVANIA (Netflix series) ISAAC The Forge Master

There are so many reasons to LOVE this series!

  • The sound track is incredible
  • The voice acting is top notch
  • The animation is smooth sleek and lovable beyond words!
  • The writing is damn near flawless!
Best character by far is Isaac! the single most loyal ally to Count Dracula and I just want to say this duo is the greatest friend pairing in ANIME HISTORY!

Breaking down Isaac's character development:

Isaac at first introduction appears to be blindly following Dracula due to him being the only figure to truly show him kindness and saved him from being sold on the black market.

This develops into almost a father figure relationship Dracula returns to Isaac in need of his loyalties in Draculas pursuit to start a war on mankind purging all humans or in the very least culling their numbers.

Isaac agrees even though he is human he believes in Draculas mission and intends to full-fill his mission pledging his alliance with Dracula in both life and death.

As Draculas court begins to turn on him, Isaac is seen to be the only one that truly stands by him, where as Hector appears to be loyal but swayed by indifference to Draculas execution of war plans.

In the end Dracula is killed at the hand of his son and upon defending him, Isaac is thrown aside and his mortal life spared. Knowing the inevitable truth that Dracula is dead he declares himself Dracula's surrogate. Forging night creatures along the way, he builds his army to take down his betrayers he believes to be Hector and Carmilla.

Hector is revealed to be only a pawn in the betrayal of Dracula. Carmilla could not sway Isaac's loyalty from Dracula (She needed a forge master for her army) but Hector was easily swayed. Taking him captive Isaac still believes he is a betrayer where his true enemy is actually Carmilla.

On his way to Avenge his lord, Isaac develops A LOT by meeting 4 minor characters that question his motives.

(Character 1)
Although it is NOT OFFICIAL, this character is believed to Grant Dynasty. He makes a brief appearance in human form attacking Isaac after being exiled in the dessert by his late master. He is killed and reanimated as a night creature by Isaac the forge master in the first slaves of his undead army.

This character enrages Isaac as he develops into a grudged revenge seeking character, describing the human race as being un-trustworthy and his need to purge all human life because it is easier to do so than go through life amongst those who might betray him again.

Isaac now has a motive. His attack at the watering hole in the desert was the last of many straws. Having always been betrayed and the only amount of kindness having been shown to him by Dracula (whom released him from his service so that he could live) was no now dead, he makes his way to the nearest town with his few night creatures.

---

Upon reaching town he meets
(Character 2)
The old shop keeper that bestows upon him a gift. A mirror that shows him his destination Carmilla's castle and who he still believes is his betrayer, Hector.

Isaac is shown that the human race holds some good. The old man gives Isaac the mirror for the price of  nothing more than friendship in hell. The shop keeper makes it know that he will more than likely go to hell when he finally dies and that he may have the mirror so long as Isaac repays him a good turn in hell.

Isaac agrees to these terms and is lightened by the shop keepers good turn.

---

Outside the shop Isaac is met with a band of soldiers who are there to protect the town after seeing Isaacs band of undead night creatures. Although Isaac has done nothing to provoke the soldiers, the town is frighted by the forge masters night creatures and provoke him to attack. More night creatures are added to Isaac's growing army.

---

At the ship docks (Character 3)
Isaac meets a ship captain at the docks whom he persuaded to transport him and his night creatures. The captain agrees that so long as none of his crew members are harmed, he will take them across the sea (he must also pay a fee). Isaac states he could kill them all and sail the boat himself, to which the captain replies: 'If that is so, why do we require sailors?'

Implying that the ship can not be sailed without them.

Isaac agrees and they set sail. In the captains quarters, Isaac finds that the captain is 'bored' and wishes to talk with Isaac whom seems to be living the life of adventure. Interested in Isaac's story they talk of his past and interpretation of humanity.

Isaac appears to be very negative in his outlook due to his negative experiences with people describing his mundane existence.

The captain evaluates Isaac's point of view, telling him that of course he would have such an outlook considering what he had been through. astonished that the captain agreed with his views he asks why.

The captain describes the philosophy of experiencing the world. If a person is surrounded by positivity they will have a positive outlook and vise versa. They talk about Isaac's experience with the nice old man at the shop which showed him kindness of giving him the viewing mirror.

He said: 'If you kill all humans you would be purging the evil of humanity, but you would also be purging the good in humanity as well.'

He also inquired about his own mortality. (being human)
Would he have killed the captain and The old man in the shop?

----

Isaac breaks from philosophy once again purging soldiers who get in his way once he docks, being reminded once again of humanities cruelty. (adding to his night creatures)

----

The old forge master woman (Character 4)

Meeting an old woman sitting outside her abandon town, Isaac spares her (hinting that he is actually not entirely bad and is only really motivated to purge humanities unjust individuals)
Isaac finds out that she is a forge master like himself and also appears to be a mage still capable of defending herself. She is found to also hold some of the same ideology as him and tells him the story of how her village came to be abandoned.
A mage had take her people for his own army putting them under a spell to make them fight for him. The old woman, not entirely motivated to save them due to her age merely defended herself to keep from being captured and tells Isaac that he could capture these people for his own army for his cause.

Isaac now appears to have developed into this character that likes to flaunt his ideology, strength and prowess as god like..

  • Isaac wants to live up to his lord Dracula's expectations (having been the first on to shown him kindness) This was surface level and he didn't think much further than pleasing him.

  • After loosing Dracula he wanted to continue with his dying wish out of anger.

  • After learning that Dracula was not the only one to show him kindness he starts to question who should live and who should dye and if he should be the one to make those decisions.

  • After being surrounded by a mix of good and bad individuals he starts to realize the a purge is not a one sided decision and that there are morals to be implicated what would happen to the few good people, children?
